Good Samaritans help apprehend hit and run driver

On Monday afternoon in Bethlehem, PA, a cyclist named Frank Pavlick was struck by a black sedan whose driver immediately tried to flee the scene. However, upon seeing the crash, a public bus driver, Richard Gubish, Jr., maneuvered the bus to block both lanes of traffic, thus keeping the sedan driver from leaving the scene. Additionally, a silver car driven by Jud Smull stopped directly behind the black sedan, effectively sandwiching him in until the authorities arrived. The 17-year-old sedan driver was charged with two traffic violations. Coincidentally, this wreck occurred on the same day a new Pennsylvania bike safety law went into effect requiring motorists to leave a four-foot cushion when passing a bicyclist.
