A woman severely injured when a tractor trailer hit her car received a $1 million dollar settlement from the truck’s insurance company, according to court documents.
Melanie Moll was driving to pick up her son from school in Lenoir County when a truck.that was attempting to pass her in a no-passing zone t-boned her vehicle as she made a left turn. The truck’s driver, an employee of Triple N Transport Inc, told a state trooper Moll did not use her signal.
Moll suffered several bones and a severely fractured her pelvis in the crash.
State trooper’s investigation into the collision revealed that Moll failed to use her turn signal and should have seen the truck in her rear view mirror, according to court documents. However, the fact that the crash occurred in a no-passing zone resulted in the pre-suit settlement, Moll’s attorney said.
