As WTVD 11 has reported, state employees around North Carolina have not been receiving their workers’ compensation checks. On July 1 North Carolina transferred its workers’ compensation administration away from CorVel to Sedgwick. The change did not go smoothly.

In February Gov. McCrory claimed that 40% of state workers’ compensation claims are fraudulent or abusive. The claim was discredited and came from the former administrator CorVel. Rather than make false claims the state should follow the law and issue injured workers much needed checks on time.
